Busy July

Wow! I can't believe how fast July went for me and August is already here and almost half way over. This is what our family has been up to. First on July 12th we went to our Stake Lagoon day which we had a blast once again. Morgan loves Lagoon she is still talking about going back. Every other day she ask me what do I want to do today go to Lagoon or she'll tell her friends that were going to Lagoon.

I love Morgan's face!
I
Then in the meantime we were planning a surprise 60th birthday party for my Dad to be given on the 20th of July. We weren't sure if we wanted to keep it a surprise because we weren't even sure if my Dad would show up to his own party. He is always so busy with work and also he is the Bishop of his ward. The cover up for the party was my sister(Christina's) little boy was turning one and we were celebrating his birthday too that night. So we invited about 100 people or so and it was a great turn out and everyone had a great time.
This was my Dad surprised and confused face why
we are singing happy birthday to him
and why there were all these tables set up.
Christina forgot about candles if your wondering
why there is a zero on his cake.
That's all we had oh well Mckay won't know the difference.
We had a bounce house for the kids and my
dad got in the bounce house with most of his
grandchildren.

My sister Kathryn(who lives in Pennsylvania) came in on that morning of the 20th with her four children and spent the next three weeks here in Utah. Her husband John-David came in later that evening and was able to join us the night of the party. It's been about two years since my whole family has been able to be together.

My sister Christina & her husband have been staying with my parents for the summer they have been here since the first week of June. They live in Surprise, AZ going to medical school. Michael has been working for my Dad for the summer.

The day before the party my sister Christina who was 33 weeks along had this feeling that she hadn't really notice that she hadn't felt her baby move because she had been so busy thinking about what she was doing for Mckay's birthday party. She felt that she needed to go to the hospital to make sure that everything was ok. They went to the hospital and got some bad news there wasn't a heart beat and that her baby had gone back to our Heavenly Father. That week was really a hard week for me I can't even image how my sister and brother-n-law have to go through and still grieving for losing a child. That Friday on the July 23rd which was actually my Dad's 60th birthday he conducted his 14th grandchild's grave site service which was beautiful and too perfect. If you would like to know more Christina has a blog and shares it so perfectly on there.
There's two post about it if you are intrested.

I think in a way even though it is a trial for Christina and Michael it has brought in my view our families closer together. There are a lot of things that we can learn from this, but one thing that I really took from this is our Heavenly Father is in control and he knows whats best for us and little Connor needed a body. He was already too perfect for this world.

After the service a few hours later my children and myself were on our way to my parents cabin with everybody else were we spent five days with 10 adults and 10 children. Chris wasn't able to go because of work.

I was on a road trip for 6 hours with two children that did really compared to last time Chris and I made the trip back in May were Jayden cried almost the whole time on the way home except maybe for an hour. This trip we got to take all the kids hiking up to the game camera to see what kind of animal pictures grandpa got on his camera. This time we got some bear and even wolf for the first time. ( The wolf was officially verified) Went in to Yellowstone National Park which it's been a few years since I have been there. We got to see Old Faithful, a mom Cinnamon bear with her cub, lots of bison, elk, and even with a little bit of light left in Lamar Valley a wolf.
Taking a break on our way up to the cabin.
Can we say Road Trip!

Two tired children from traveling through Yellowstone National Park and begin in the car
most of the day.
Still happy girl even though we were in the car most of the day!
She did later on have her melt down traveling back to the cabin.
I think this was for me one of the best cabin trips that I have had in a long time. It was just fun to see all the different nieces and nephews personalities come out. Morgan didn't not want to leave and I kind of didn't want to leave either and come back to reality, but I did want to come home and see Chris.
The next day I got to see Chris for half of the day then Chris and his Dad were getting on a plane to Texas to go get Chris's Pride and Joy Big Red (1987 Dodge Dakota) a truck that was given to him by his uncle before he passed away in May. Chris and his Dad drove 22 hours straight through back to Utah. They stops obviously for gas, to eat, and to get a t-shirt in Lubbock, TX at a Walmart for a co-worker of Chris'. I'm glad they made it and didn't have any problems with the truck.
I don't have a picture of Big Red yet that will be next post.
Then that following Sunday we wanted to take a picture of all 13 grandchildren together these were the results....

I'm glad that it was and has been busy month for me it makes the same daily routine of being a mom and life a little bit more exciting!
